Drugstore Makeup & Skincare Haul

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Walgreens. The opinions and text are all mine.

Besides BOGO (buy one get one) sales, there’s another reason to go ham during your next Walgreens trip: the Beauty Enthusiast Program. Walgreens wants to reward beauty junkies like ourselves by giving us #PrettyPerk reward points, special event invites, and more just by shopping for the products we love at the store.

When you join the Balance® Rewards beauty club, for every $50 you spend on beauty and personal care** items, you get 5000 points which is the equivalent to $5 towards your next purchase. And what’s even cooler is that beauty not only includes things like your favorite mascaras, eyeliners, foundations, and night creams, it also includes things like deodorant, body wash, and even some feminine hygiene products. Can you imagine how many points you can easily rack up with just your basic beauty needs?!?!?

And, as part of Balance® Rewards, these points can be redeemed on almost anything, so you can get more of the things you love—like when it’s that time of the month and you find yourself perusing the snack aisle at Walgreens for instance.

All you have to do to be down with the Beauty Enthusiast Program is to sign up here. Don’t you go assuming you already have it though—even though it’s part of the Balance® Rewards program, you still have to opt in to the Beauty Enthusiast Program if you want the #PrettyPerk rewards.

I also worked with Walgreens earlier this year to produce and edit a video that went on the Beauty Enthusiast portal on Walgreens.com. So not only can you get #PrettyPerk rewards points on your beauty purchases, but you also have access to beauty content like my video tutorial via the Beauty Enthusiast Program. Cool, right?

So a few days ago, I marched into my local Walgreens armed with a $100 gift card and a mission to buy items I hadn’t yet tried. I’ve already tried a TON of the skincare products offered at Walgreens (from brands like RoC, Olay, No7, Neutrogena, L’Oreal, Botanics, etc.) but found a few items that are new to me and because there was a sale I re-upped on some faves. I mean, I earned points on everything I bought so I can redeem them when it’s time to re-up on my beauty faves again—it’s like the gift that keeps on giving ;)

Here’s what I bought:

no7 beautiful skin purifying exfoliator
No7 Beautiful Skin Purifying Exfoliator (it’s for normal/oily skin and deeply cleanses, purifies, and helps unblock pores—this is something I would only use 1-2 times a week)

soap and glory heel genius
Neutrogena Beach Defense SPF 30 (I needed to reup on sunscreen and love this one because it smells really nice and doesn’t leave a greyish cast on my dark skin. Check out my quick sunscreen demo below and learn more about sunscreen here)
Soap & Glory Heel Genius Amazing Foot Cream (it’s sandal season and I need my heels to not look like they could sand floors…lol)
Degree MotionsenseTM Deodorant (these were BOGO 50% off and I love these because they really help keep me dry all day long even in the summer—I also use it to prevent my thighs from chafing)

L’Oreal Brow Stylist Definer in Brunette (I went ham on these because they were BOGO 50% off so I bought FOUR…lol. These are my current FAVE brow pencils and can rival similar pencils sold at department stores. Check out the quick demo video below and my full brow video here)

L’Oreal Voluminous Mascara in Cobalt Blue (I couldn’t help myself…lol)

L’Oreal Infallible Matte Matic Eyeliner in Black (this is actually pretty similar to one of my fave department store brand eyeliners—it’s just as budge-proof, jet black and inky as my fave which is also made by L’Oreal)

kiss lash couture midnight lashes
KISS Lash Couture lashes (these were also BOGO 50% off and it’s like almost impossible for me to go anywhere that sells lashes and not pick up at least one pair. Plus, these look like the fancy lashes that go for almost double the price.)

studio 35 beauty sheet masks

Studio 35 Beauty Hydrating Sheet Mask, Facial Brightening Sheet Mask, and Pore Cleansing Sheet Mask (these were 3 for $4 and I can almost never pass up a sheet mask)

I also bought some not-so-glamorous stuff like allergy meds and Vitamin C drops which of course didn’t earn me any Beauty Enthusiast points, but they did earn me points towards my Balance® Rewards account. I racked up 20,550 points in just these two trips—yasssss.

P.S. If there’s a product you want to buy that your local Walgreens or Duane Reade doesn’t carry, you can order it on walgreens.com—it will ship to your local store for FREE or to your home with any $35 or more purchase.

I need to check my Walgreens again, I’ve been looking for the L’Oréal eyebrow pencil for months. I’ve checked every drugstore in town with no luck. Guess I’ll just order it online.

      Hey Ebonie!!

If you don’t find it, you can order it online and have it shipped for free to your store for pickup. I did that last month with a sulfur mask I saw online but my Walgreens didn’t carry it. Or you can have it shipped to your house.
