50 Shades of Lipstick (As Demonstrated on Me) Part 4: Pinks, Corals, and Plummy Pink Shades

Read ALL about my review process including how I take swatches, photos, and more here.

pink and coral lipstick on dark skin

You know what’s funny—like not even six months ago I wasn’t into pinks so much but I SURE did put a lot of pinks into this series…lol. More than even what has come to be known as my signature–red! I had some overflow from the pinks and had to create a category to put the shades that are kinda coral-y and those that are plummy but not vampy so you’ve got this ;)

In case you’re coming to this series for the first time, you totally want to check out Part 1: The Nudes, Part 2: The Pinks, and Part 3: The Reds. I also want to remind you again, I did all of these in one sitting so if you look close and my lips look like they might have been on fire, it’s because they were…lol. But I committed to this and pushed through wiping off and putting on 50 shades of lipstick back to back because like Jay-Z once uttered in rhyme “I do this for my culture.” :D

If you love what I’ve done here, please feel free to share via Pinterest, Twitter, Instagram, Facebook—put please make sure you tag me and link to this post. Also please don’t take these pics and my words and use them on your blog posts—don’t do me like that…lol. I’ve already had an incident like that happen (like Antoine Dobson said “We will find you!” lol) and it doesn’t feel pretty which is why I have the “watermark” that looks like it came from the Mr. T collection all up and through these pics. It takes away from the beauty of Nas of Nasilele Photography‘s beautiful work of photographing me (hit her up if you need wedding, anniversary, family portraits, head shots, or if you’re like me and want to have great photos of yourself while all your limbs still work) but the internet is kinda like NYC in the late 70s and 80s :x

Also how cute is this canvas I ordered from Nas of a photo she took of me earlier this year? I seriously need to re-do my whole entire home life and have a wall dedicated to photos of me—you know, to counter all the bad ones of me out there…lol.

Anyway, let’s get into this!

The Black up 18 and 19 look really warm and great on you. I went on a milani binge this summer so I have Sangria; I thought about getting uptown mauve for a long time but I couldn’t justify the lipstick madness haha

Love the lip colors Danielle! Beautiful as always!! I have an unrelated question…I was wondering if you had a chance to check out the Naked 3 palette by Urban Decay, and your thoughts?

This series has been great but you kind of look great in all of the colors! Did you find any that might make it into regular rotation?

Thanks, Andrea!!! Totally—definitely a lot of the soft pinks and nudes. Before the series I would normally just wear whatever lipstick was in my purse which was usually a red or lately Tom Ford Deep Mink + Pink Guilt or MAC Flat Out Fabulous, but the series has really made me want to go through my lipstick stash more—I own WAY too many lipsticks to wear the same ones all the time…lol.
