TSABD Quick Reviews: MAC Hyper Real Glow, Sephora Collection #LipStories + MORE!

Read ALL about my review process including how I take swatches, photos, and more here.

Welcome back to another TSABD Quick Reviews post! TSABD Quick Reviews is just as its name would suggest: quick reviews. Sometimes there just isn’t a whole lot I need to say about a product, so I’ll group them together and give you the quick rundown. These are NOT like my TSABD Edit where I tend to go into detailed explanation with swatches and sometimes video demos.

Every product in this post was sent to me by the brand’s PR for review consideration.

No7 Airbrush Away Tinted Skin Perfector

In theory this sounds like an amazing product: it combines skincare with sheer coverage, it blurs the appearance of fine lines and pores, and you could wear it on its own or use it as a foundation primer. It comes in three shades: Light, Medium, and Dark. I love the formula and how it does seem to smooth the skin, but the shade range isn’t great. The Dark is WAY too light for me. Of course “dark” can be a suggestive term but knowing that No7 has deeper shades in their foundation line, this “dark” is disappointing. I wouldn’t even want to use it as a primer because the tint gives me a skin a greyish cast that foundation would likely cover, but I fear that it would tell on me in certain lighting.

Covergirl Vitalist Elixir Lip Oil

Though lip oils aren’t really a product category that speaks to my personal style (I’m either no makeup whatsoever or all glammed up—rarely is there an in-between for me…lol), but still intriguing since a lot of brands are coming up with their own versions of it. I was happy to see Covergirl doing their own take in their new re-branded packaging (which after taking a poll on my Insta Stories, you guys seemed to be split on).

This lip oil is non-sticky and gives the lips shine and a hint of color while hydrating and conditioning the lips. I found the applicator a bit stiff, but the lip oil definitely feels amazing on my lips. This type of product might be perfect if you’re looking for a lip conditioner that won’t break the bank and gives you a little hint of color or if you have a ‘tween or teen who wants to add to their look but you don’t want to give them something that looks “like makeup.”

You can grab these at Walmart for $6.94 each.

Sephora Collection #LipStories

This is a new collection of 40 shades that come in variety of cream, matte & metallic finishes available exclusively at Sephora. There isn’t much to say about them because they’re lipsticks and not much different than most out there. I like the texture and finish of the few sent to me—but whether or not you get one of these will depend if you like the special packaging. One or more of them might speak to you in some way or bring back certain memories.

Nudestix Rock N’ Roller Easy Eyeliner Ink

If you love liquid liner but haven’t quite gotten the hang out of applying it yet, you’ll love this! The applicator looks like a little pizza cutter and it helps to glide the product on the eyes evenly and easily. You could even get a nice cat eye using these. They come in a few colors—I got the Bronze and Golden Rosé in the package sent to me, but it also comes in black.

MAC Hyper Real Glow

I never thought I’d say this, but I’m highlighter’d out. I love a good highlighter—they give the skin such a gorgeous glow but there are SO MANY of them coming out and I personally do not need any more highlighters in my stash. We talked about this on my Insta Stories and many of you agreed. I think many of us would love to see the money brands are spending to create new highlighters used towards create more foundation shades for people of color.

Nonetheless, MAC Hyper Real Glow is a really pretty highlighter palette. I love that it gives a luminous glow without being super shimmery or glittery.
