Since 2007 I’ve written this blog to help people just like you get your fashion and beauty fix and look your absolute best. I’ve always been a shopaholivavid supporter of new products and often write about my honest experiences with the beauty products I’ve used on both myself and during my career as a makeup artist and image consultant.
As things started to change in the way blogs were viewed, brands and PR companies started to reach out to us just like they have done for centuries with traditional media to review products on our sites. And as this site grew in popularity and continues to grow, I do get contacted often by brands and PR agencies–much like your favorite magazine editors have for years–to see if I would be interested in testing and possibly reviewing their products on the site.
A product sent to The Style and Beauty Doctor for review consideration is treated no different than the products I pay for myself (which I still do a lot these days) and I still take my time to review and give my honest thoughts on said product. Products sent for review are also not guaranteed coverage on the blog—since I run this blog (and also write for other publications) by myself, in order to bring you, the reader, the most amount of products that I think you’ll be interested in knowing about, it isn’t possible for me to review everything. Nonetheless, every review you see here regardless of whether or not I purchased them myself or if they were sent to me for review consideration are based on my honest thoughts and experience with that product. Receiving products from brands and PR agencies also allows me to be able to share the scoop on even more products—some that I may not even come across myself during my many shopping trips…lol.
My allegiance as it always has been is to you fine folks who read this blog everyday and who follow me on social media (note: I also from time to time talk about products on my social accounts that were received from brands and PR agencies). I’ve always disclosed within the body of my reviews on the blog whether or not I received an item from a brand or agency and always will.
