Reader Submitted Review: Nesha’s Take on Black Radiance & Rimmel Lipsticks

Read ALL about my review process including how I take swatches, photos, and more here.

I love when you guys are willing to submit reviews of products as well as send over pics of your fashion or makeup looks. It makes The Style and Beauty Doctor feel more like a community! And who doesn’t love a community.

So today we have the lovely Nesha submitting not only her review of Black Radiance & Rimmel Lipsticks, but she also sent in swatch pics. Isn’t she awesome?

Here’s what she thought:

Hi Danielle,

As promised here’s my thoughts on a few of the lipsticks I picked up last weekend. My Black Radiance Reggae Red lipstick broke as soon as I opened it. BOO!! So I’ll be picking up another one this weekend.

Since I started reading your blog, I noticed you mention Black Radiance products a lot. Last weekend, I finally got my hand on a few of their lipsticks at half off (about $1) and I must say I was so impressed by the quality! The first time I tried Uptown Red (5013) my reaction was WOW! It is by far the most beautiful red that’s ever touched my lips & it’s creamy, highly pigmented & unbelievably long lasting. The staying power was amazing! I had it on from about 7:30am & after lunch I only had to do a little touch up. Mind you I love MAC Russian Red & Ruby Woo but Uptown Red takes the throne. I also have Kiss of Chocolate (5011A) which is a very nice caramel looking brown. This one smells really funky but only for a few minutes. Overall, I love Black Radiance lipsticks, they have a nice stain & they last all day. I’ll definitely be getting another Uptown Red.

Another on my list was Rimmel London Lasting Finish Intense Wear Lipstick in In Vogue (038) & True Vintage (123). I must say I have a weakness for bold lips so when I saw In Vogue I just had to get it. In Vogue is a beautiful fuchsia hot pink that is highly pigmented, creamy and it has great staying power. On top of that, it smells really good. It’s a bit semi matte but not drying. I wouldn’t wear it to work as I would with True Vintage which is a dark ‘mauvey’ sort of color, my friend describes it as a muted berry with very little shine. Both these lipstick are good quality considering they’re $5 a pop!
