Mally Beauty Poreless Perfection Skin Finisher Review

Read ALL about my review process including how I take swatches, photos, and more here.

Words cannot describe how much I LOVE Mally Rancal. She’s so sweet, so funny, AND she can beat a face like no other. In my head we’re totally BFFs…we stroll down to Soho and like, give people ambush makeup makeovers and then we grab treats from the Yogo truck (seriously, that stuff is sinfully delicious).

Having tested quite a few of her products (through blogger preview events), I get really excited when she comes out with something new. Even more excited because when she does have a new product, it debuts on QVC which on a Friday night with the right snacks is must-see TV.

She’s even hilarious on Twitter!

Anyway, though her Poreless Perfection Skin Finisher isn’t brand new, it’s new to me and her team sent it over for review consideration. I’m a HUGE fan of the Evercolor Poreless Face Defender, a clear non-powder that gives me the most beautiful pore-free semi-matte finish. It’s genius. Plus Mally hates powder—which made me kinda go “Huh?” when I saw she added a powder to the line, but she explains why the Poreless Perfection Skin Finisher exists better than I could:

I created this feather weight, completely invisible, brightening skin finisher so that you can get the glowing, poreless, fresh modern look that we all need and want! First of all, let’s just talk about how this is NOT a powder…it is a skin finisher! “What does this mean, Mally?” you may ask. Well, it is a fabulous new way to give your skin a flawless, matte (but not TOO matte), silky finish that looks totally natural and new. It’s the last step to your makeup routine and a great way to keep you fresh throughout the day. But why is it different? Well, it is completely free of talc, fragrance, oils and parabens. So all that is left after you apply is a perfect, flawless you! It leaves you with a perfect soft focus complexion and makes the look of all those fine lines and wrinkles go bye bye!

It comes with a kabuki brush, but I wound up ditching it for my Esum X51 because the bristles are softer. I was nervous at first that I’d have a powdery type of look, but it blended into my skin and photos well. My pores did look diffused, but I have to say I’m not in love with this powder. My skin would need the finish to be a little more matte, but I’m sure those who have less oily skin types would enjoy this more. I’m just so much more blown away by the Evercolor Poreless Face Defender that Poreless Perfection Skin Finisher almost didn’t have a chance. So this is why I wore it for four days straight just to be sure. I still came to the same conclusion though I still love my girl!

Bottom line: I’d skip this. If you’re looking to add some Mally Beauty to your arsenal, go straight for the Evercolor Poreless Face Defender and the Perfect Prep Primer (seriously my HG primer for the past year)—these are two of my faves that I bet you’d like as well.
