For as long as brands make new concealers, I will be forever trying them. What I look for in a concealer is something that brightens my under eye area, stays put, and for the little creases forming in my eyes, I’d like for my concealer to not settle into them. So naturally when I saw new-ish Laura Mercier High Coverage Concealer for Under Eye, it was a must-try for me. High Coverage? UM—yes, please.

The brand sent over shades 6 and 7. For me 6 would be more of a brightening shade (and possibly too bright unless I mix a little of shade 7 in it) and shade 7 is perfect for when I want a more natural look under the eyes and was perfect for covering a huge dark spot I have on my chin (yeah, I’m a rebel using under eye concealer on my chin. what-what!!!).

6 – dark skin w/ almond undertone
7 – deeper skin w/ cool undertone

The formula is super pigmented—you only need VERY, VERY, VERY little for the under eye area. In fact I LOVE that the tube is made in a way that only a small amount dispenses—it’s perfect because you don’t waste the product or OD on application.

As for performance? This concealer is NO joke. It smooths over the eyes getting rid of discoloration and once you put it on, it’s going nowhere. I like to dispense a little on the back of my hand and then use my beautyblender to blend.

Here I am wearing shade 6 + powder under my eyes and I have shade 7 on my chin to cover a dark spot.

And then here I am with full makeup (minus lip because I hadn’t decided which one I wanted to wear yet…lol)

Bottom line: While there is room for more deeper shades in between 6 and 7, I think these two are pretty decent shades for concealing discoloration on a wide range of darker skin (they both have honey undertones which is perfect for concealing darkness on deeper skin). In other words, shade 6 and shade 7 could help cover for a wide range of skin tones because you don’t need an under eye concealer to exactly match your skin—typically if you want to brighten, it should be about a shade lighter. The formula and performance is amazing though so if you find a great match, this one’s a keeper.
