RéVive Sensitif Renewal Cream SPF 30 is Just as Dreamy on Oily Skin as You’d Imagine

revive spf oily skin

We all know the importance of wearing sunscreen (*talks through teeth* we do, right? right?) but the thing is you want that sunscreen to be comfy on the skin and if it’s going on your face you also want it to not interrupt your makeup flow and if you have oily skin you don’t need it stealing your shine by um—making you shiny. As a woman always on the quest for sunscreens to add to my “OMG I LOVE THIS” list, RéVive sent over their Sensitif Renewal Cream Daily Cellular Protection Broad Spectrum SPF 30 Sunscreen and I’m super duper impressed.

First of all it’s lightweight. It sinks right into the skin without any residue and dries to a touch. If you suffer from short term memory loss you might think you forgot to put it on because it seriously feels like nothing on. And speaking of putting it on, make sure you apply liberally (about a nickel sized dollop for the face) and get every little crevice on your face—your hairline, your ears, behind your ears, your neck, etc. Sun protection is not only about the center of your face and then your body and it’s certainly not about being skimpy—you want to make sure you apply enough otherwise you’re not getting the full level of protection.

(We’ll also talk about protecting your scalp in an upcoming post.)

But yes, back to RéVive.

And even as the day wore on and on and on, no excessive oiliness or shine as a result of wearing it. And it played very well with my primer and makeup. It’s also a great size for travel, too. Well played, RéVive. Well played.

Bottom line: If you’re a woman who likes nice things and looking for a daily broad spectrum SPF moisturizer to add to your routine that won’t get all greasy and ashy on you, you’ll love Sensitif Renewal Cream.

Price and where to buy: $215 at Nordstrom, Barneys, Saks, Space NK

Girl you kill me with these prices! Lol no but eventually I’ll get there. You’re like my friend in my head (as Wendy Williams says) so I knoe it’s probably worth it.

Quick question. I was reading somewhere that said we should use either moisturizer or primer but not both. I thought that was crazy. Then it said especially if one of them has SPF in it. Have you heard this before? If so, should we only use one product with SPF because I try to make sure everything has it. Well as much as I can find. Have a great rest of the day!

I’ve heard celebrity makeup artists say that and I don’t agree. The face needs moisture whether or not you’re putting makeup and primer on it and regardless of the skin type. My only guess is some of them say that because it does something to the performance of their makeup but I’ve personally never had that happen to me or when I worked as a makeup artist (not that I was a celebrity makeup artist by far…lol). But I will say that SPF can be tricky on your if you’re having your picture taken and flash will be involved. Sometimes the SPF can look like your face is several shades lighter once the flash hits it. But people don’t often have their photos professionally taken all the time so it’s okay to skip it when the need comes up.

I linked to other SPF moisturizers at various price points—I know the RéVive price tag looks scary…lol. But if one is into those type of fancy things, it’s totally got the thumbs up from me.
