You Need to Go the Chanel Counter ASAP and Have Them Put This Lip Combo on You

I was minding my own business scrolling through Instagram when I saw my buddy Maree of A Little Bit, Etc. post about the new Chanel glosses at Bergdorfs. I made a mental note to go check them out even though I wasn’t going to be near 5th avenue. I wound up near Herald Square so I popped into Macy’s (who OMG have you been to the beauty level since they redid it earlier this year/late last year? They added tons of chic brands like Laura Mercier and Dolce & Gabbana, too) and sashayed over to the Chanel counter (which really looks like a mini boutique) and inquired about the glosses. Of course they didn’t have them yet, but I asked the kind makeup artist if she could show me a mauvey-pink lip color similar to one I saw in Maree’s post because I was already there, might as well nose around a bit.

Her eyes lit up a bit as she asked me to sit while she pulled some items. And girl, I don’t ever let any sales people pressure me into getting anything EVER, so while she showed me a pretty lipstick that looked EXACTLY like what I had in mind, I was NOT about to let her sell me a lip pencil and gloss because I knew it was coming next in her pitch. But I am kind so I let her show it to me and then I’d just buy only the lipstick.

Well, the second I saw all three on, all of that went out the window and I was like “SELL ME ALL THREE!” haha! But seriously, this lip combo is everything. You know I love my bright lip colors (pssst—see me in over 100 shades of lipstick in my 50 Shades of Lipstick series), but I’m also a sucker for a soft pinky mauve. It’s SUCH a pretty color and it works on a wide range of skin tones. It’s an alternative to a nude for deeper skin like mine and it’s a browny pink on lighter skin tones—like a pinkier version of the lip color Kylie Jenner made the makeup world go crazy over.

The combo is Lip Definer in Mordoré Nude + Rogue Allure in Ambiguë + Glossimer in Giggle on top. The lip pencil is a very unique pinky brown with slight bronze reflects—I was going to pass on it but when I looked closer, I saw that I don’t really have anything like it in my stash. Rogue Allure in Ambiguë is the longest lasting nudey lip color I’ve ever tried. It’s crazy how long it lasts—I got about five hours or maybe even a little more before needing to reapply. It has a creamy matte finish. But what brings this combo out is the touch of Chanel Giggle on top because nothing makes me happier than a glossy mauvey pink nude.

Seriously, you need to go and try this on at your Chanel counter ASAP. And if you do post it on social media and tag me @StyleNBeautyDoc so I can see (but please don’t have a private profile otherwise I can’t see…lol).

Chanel on the lips is everything. I cannot tell you home many tubes of the UNITY glossimer I have gone thru. Chanel was my lippie of choice when my responsiblities were fewer – Giggle is everything…So glad you found a combo that you liked. This story reminds me of when the MAC lady sold me the Niki lipglass…she swore I would love it and it would go with everything and it does…who knew?

You mention that you used Ben Nye in Topaz but Coco Tan is in the picture. Which do you prefer?
