Products I Finished Recently…

products i finished cover fx contour kit roc resurfacing disks stila stay all day vinyl gloss boscia makeup breakup cleansing oil

Not too long ago a reader tweeted me her wishes to see more “products I finished” posts from women of color because she finds them helpful. Beauty pal in my head Eva Chen (click here to see a video we did together a few years ago) does these from time to time on her Instagram, but I personally don’t finish products often. It’s not because I don’t like them—it’s because I either get so much or buy so much that I couldn’t possibly hit pan on everything. And then when I do finish I sometimes don’t replenish because I have something else in the same product category that will work so I don’t have to spend the extra money. I’m trying to be a reformed beauty fiend (and also be able to walk around the apartment without tripping over bottles and boxes…lol) but for the sake of community, I DO have a few items I finished recently so here I am :)

Cover FX Contour Kit

This is actually the second Cover FX Contour Kit I “finished” since it came out. I wound up not using the lighter highlight shade and the shimmer shade as much as I did N90 and N120 (click here to read why I highlight/contour). I think now that the N120 shade is back in the Cover FX Total Cover Cream Foundation, I can just buy full sizes of N90 and N120 to do my highlight/contour thing (see my Makeup 101 series on my Youtube channel to see how I highlight and contour and don’t forget to SUBSCRIBE!). Although the kit DOES come in handy for travel and whenever I need to shoot…lol.

Boscia Makeup Breakup Cleansing Oil

This is one of my favorite cleansing oils and it’s all gone. I’m not replenishing just yet—I have like three other full bottles of cleansing oil in my stash to finish first. Read more about cleansing oils and how I use them in my routine here.

RoC Daily Resurfacing Disks

These are my latest cleansing obsessions and I went through my first container pretty quickly (there’s 28 in total and I was using them day and night). Read my full review here.

Stila Stay All Day Vinyl Lip Gloss in Vinyl Fuchsia

This was my JAM this summer! I’m typically a lipstick girl but have been having a gloss moment lately. I LOVE this formula because it’s super pigmented and glossy and literally lasts all day. I just need more colors because the only one I love is this Vinyl Fuchsia shade. BUT I went to a cocktail event with Stila recently and they said new shades are on the way—we should be hearing about them soon :)

I went against my “no new makeup until you finish ALL that you have” rule and re-bought this shade. See my full review here.

So those are the products I finished recently! Again, because of the nature of what I do with this blog, I don’t get to finish products often and that doesn’t mean there’s something wrong with the product—just that I get so much in.

Have you finished any beauty products lately? Tell me about it in the comments!

Hey Danielle, I had a little obsession with the Roc discs as well and used them to remove my makeup. I cut them in half and they last me twice as long! I am also on my second container. I’ve been testing (and using) Korean cleansing oils lately!

I do that too! But I love them so much I bought two more (1 for the gym and 1 to keep downstairs so I don’t have to go up to the bathroom to take off my makeup after work because I’m LAZY) so I haven’t really saved any money lol

Nice! I’ll try cutting them in half—sounds tedious though and I know how I can get sometimes…lol. I prefer to use cleansing oils to remove my makeup first and then I use the RoC discs.
