I prefer lightweight oversized scarves because they can be tied into turbans, used as a sarong, worn as a wrap, or if you’re in NYC they can double as a light jacket or sorts for days when the weather is inexplicably chilly in June. I’m also into hair ties because they not only can they come in handy for bad hair days no matter your texture, but they also add something extra to your top knots, twist-outs, ponytails, and more.

Hats are another amazing way to upgrade your summer look. I like visors and other big-head/big-hair friendly hats like the ones pictured below. The one on the left is a few bucks north of $20, but if you’re someone who has trouble finding cute hats that fit, you might not mind.
