A Quick Under Eye Filler Update

dermal fillers before and after 2

Listen, I’m so used to having filler, sometimes I forget I have filler. That is until the other day when I was looking through old skin selfies. As a beauty blogger sometimes I document what my skin is doing. These were back when I had a bad bout of adult acne and dark spots—find out how I got rid of them here. I took a look at my under eye area and LAWDAMERCY. I mean, I don’t think I looked bad, but the before and after is amazing!

So if you’re unaware I had tear trough filler THREE TIMES. Once last year and then again this year after it dissolved (updating this in 2020 so I’ve gone again this year after quarantine). I have a video diary documenting what happened during my first visit and the weeks following. You can get the full scoop on what went down, how long it took me to heal, and which filler I used in the video below. The first one is a bit long, but it’s worth watching to get all the info. I’ve embedded both videos below for your convenience. You can also save them to watch later if you can’t watch right now.

FIRST TIME (VERY DETAILED):

SECOND TIME:

THIRD TIME:

I got filler to remedy the under eye hollows I’ve had since I was a kid. In the first filler video, my dermatologist Dr. Michelle Henry explains why I was a good candidate for filler (seriously, go watch the video).

I’m about six months post my second filler treatment and I’m still in love with how it looks. I’d do this again if need be (the video also explains how often you might need to get it done). I did get a discount on my treatment, but the second video explains what you can expect in terms of pricing. Costs can vary depending on a number of factors including location, filler type, amount of filler needed, etc.

Oh, one more thing. I still use eye cream and still advocate using them because the eye area is dry and needs the moisture. The eye area is delicate so I’d rather use something that’s made specifically for this sensitive area. But know that eye creams alone aren’t going to give you super dramatic results.
