Maisha gave us the 411 on the LORAC Holiday 2015 offerings recently. The brand sent over a few items and here I am sharing some swatches of the LORAC Love, Lust & Lace Alter Ego Lip Gloss Set.

So I don’t know about you guys, but I find it REALLY hard to gift makeup sets because I want to keep them for myself…lol. Makeup sets like these are really great ways to start building a makeup stash BUT that’s when the colors are all ones you’d get fair share and usage out of. Sometimes you get a set and there’s one or two (ugh or more) shades that you kinda toss to the side.

Luckily though the LORAC Love, Lust & Lace Alter Ego Lip Gloss Set has a pretty good lineup of lip gloss shades that will work on most skin tones. (I reviewed and swatched other Alter Ego Lip Gloss shades here) Because these are a semi-opaque formula, the lighter pink shades get a pass (because you know how much I despise light pinks in opaque gloss and matte formulas).

I like the formula on these—non-sticky and they have a lot of slip. You can smell the warm smell of vanilla in these and they also feel really comfy on the lips. Since these are semi-opaque glosses, you won’t get a long-lasting wear (on average you may max out at like 4 hours with some of the deeper shades) but they also make for great layering options with your other lip colors, too. And at $25 for six glosses (they appear to be full-sized) it’s a great deal.

Mademoiselle: described as a peachy nude
Duchess: described as a rosy nude
Seductress: described as rose
Hearthrob: described as deep pink
Temptress: described as wine
Lolita: described as a deep berry

I missed Hearthrob when I was swatching these on my lips—I do all my lip swatches on one day (so much easier for me especially since I’m not presentable most days…lol). But it looks pretty similar to Vixen (Heart Throb is just a touch deeper in color) which I have swatched on my lips here.

Bottom line: If you’re looking to add some more semi-opaque glosses to your stash or for a quick gift for a makeup lover in your life, this is worth a look.
